Men are the head of the family. As far as dating, cavemen dragged women back to their hut. Even within culture. In Indian culture and so many cultures women go and live with the husband and his family. She joins him, she takes his last name. The man doesn't give up his last name and that's the way is has always been. Women must assimilate. It's the culture of man/woman relationships.
I agree, many black women who date white try to assimilate but some overdo it. That's why you have the stereotype of a the black woman who not only speaks correctly grammar wise but takes on that valley girl or false imitation stereotypical white voice. I've seen it.
But the takeaway is all women do it. I've seen that hood white girl who grew up in the ghetto go strictly after hood black guys as if she were black. I've seen chinese girls like Michelle Malkin go strictly after white men. It's nature. It's women who in most cases must morph or meet the man's culture atleast halfway to be in partnership/relatinship with that man. Now there's a balance between whether or not they lose authenticity and the natural course of taking on the natural gender role.
I've only dated black middle class men before so you won't here me taking on the falsetto valley girl voice but I can't address my relationship white the white man I'm with now in the exact the same way I would if I were dating a middle class black man. For example: I won't exhibit low class black female behavior (though I didn't in the past), I won't say familiar black venacular: Like I saw a brotha helping an elderly lady across the street, and I will try his mom's casserole etc.
that's because black men r known to be real chill in soical circles. they dont swing their neck and have that 'im a strong black brotha tha white man aint gonna keep me down, ima steal yo white gurl frum yah'. black men r known to be laid back and funny. black women dont have that chill coolness about them. they have the ghetto unlikable sterotype against them. black women r known to be jealous of white, hispanic, or light skin girls cuz of their 'good' hair. even though light skin girls have curly hair its still not as nappy as the dark skinned ones
spot on. The black men really doesn't have to change when he dates outside because we are not trying to assimilate into dominant white culture. we have no desire to be part of that world and they dont want us their either. so these non-black women know that they are leaving the comfort of their culture to be with that black man. its the black women, who chooses to date outside, that tries to assimilate to the culture of white america.
