You're killing it.

It doesn't matter what some Black Women say, anyway, because Red Tails already won, and a good number of Black Women supported it with their dollars, rather it was with their sons, boyfriends, or husbands, or in some cases Grandfathers and Great Grandfathers whom were their and fought in War War II.

VIVA! RED TAILS!

@SouthPaw
"On the contrary, it helps MY point"
==========================
Okkk, let's hear it.

"your point is the one that's being hurt"
===========================
?????

"Red Tails was directed by a black man"
===========================
A white thinking black man is the same as a white man. Someone who's contractually and naturally bound by sticking to a script, whether white or black, will still produce as if they're actully a white man. Color, here, makes no never mind.

"Now you said that Aaron McGruder (screenwriter) and the black director have other loyalties. The black male image was very positive."
==============================
I said they have no loyalties to BLACK WOMEN and I was RIGHT. So you noting the black male image was positive is moot. Moreover, feeding into the stereotype of lusting after white women is not positive but moving on...

"What's the loyalties of the white director of The Help?"
===============================
The white directors had NO loyalties and I never said they did. I fucking hated the NOTION of that movie "The Help", and like with this, I SPOTTED the greasiness of playing a damn maid in 2000 when we got all these fit and fine black celebs out of work was RATCHEDNESS AND A LOTTA NERVE.

To this day I haven't laids eyes on this movie. You seem to think I only fight for movies with I BM to boycott . BM love re-writing history as if they weren't on here clowning me for calling for a boycott of Pepsi. ANYTHING...let me say it again, ANYTHING that depicts black women in a bad light or shuts them out, I DON'T support. It's YOU all turning it into hating IR and making it a case of THAT conviently blinds you to this fact.

"And I think it's Terri McMillan, instead of BlakeBarbieDoll, who was the "black" woman behind Waiting To Exhale"
============================
*blank stare* Where I'm from, people don't answer to jokes. They just get the comparison and go on to the next thing. SMH.

Terry McMillian/Alice Walker. Umm some of us were in our teens and stuff when that came out. Some of us had to come online to wake up to this "gender beef" and the hands behind the curtains. We're late to the party. But NOW that I know about these, "sit around and be sorry for yourself while taking in propaganda and crying about who doesn't love you" films are being made, I urge black women to get out of that cycle. I'm NOT that chick, Soutpaw. Sheesh.

@BigBadWolf
"the big fat greasy nigger who's married to a white woman is gary anthony williams. he's the voice behind uncle ruckus."
===================================
LMAO!!!! You and your sarcasm. I can always spot it well. LOL @ using those words cause you knew it was coming from me. HAHAHAHA. He wasn't on this project so he's not a nigger...yet.

"aaron magruder's wife's name is michelle veluz and she's half black."
==================================
Ahh ok.

"if being married to a half black person disqualifies aaron magruder from being "pro-black", does it also disqualify michelle obama? because her spouse is biracial as well."
====================================
When I made the statement about disqualification, it was when I *thought* Aaron Mcgruder was 1.)Gary Anthony Williams 2.)married to a WHITE woman and 3.)writer/producer of BOONDOCKS.

Ok now that it's put back into context, let's answer your Michelle Obama-biracial question. Being married to a bi-racial person doesn't automatically disqualify you, especially since most these men say that's black anyways. But when you factor in all the other things (ie doing a show like Boondocks) it's clear where his loyalties lie. After knowing he's with a biracial woman, you can't help but think he not only shits on black women, but didn't really want a real black woman. This is important again to show LOYALTIES AND INTENTION. So no, it doesn't impress me a BLACK man was (whatever---director? writer?)on Redtails as Southpaw throwing that up was meant to do.

When put into context it all comes together.

"Xtra, no one here is discrediting Mary McLeod Bethune. Her work getting African-American pilots to fly at Tuskegee, is appreciated. However, she didn't FLY those combat planes into Nazi territory, the pilots did."
======================================
Again, you're taking things out of context. You all are coming up with a myriad of excuses as to why black women were justifably not shown and why they shouldn't be so "childish", "vindictive," "Jealous of IR" and "spiteful" by attempting to boycott. One of the reasons was that black women were not in the war. Naturally, when in Rome do what Romans do. Y'all REFUSE to acknowledge why it is that white men don't show what "naturally" happens when in Rome, but anyways, to THAT, we showed black women were around. As if we needed to, because as you all said, it wasn't 100% factual. One minute you all call on 100% historic accuracy as to why black women weren't shown(ie you're away and the men mixed it up) then in the next breath, you all say it was "inspired by a true story" so you can insert whatever truth you want. Ok so that's part 1. Cool, but then black women say they don't wish to see this, you all don't ACCEPT that it's a perfectly normal reaction. People like YOU go into a SoulNblack thread and ask him, "What do you think of black women boycotting Redtails". Making a big deal of them attempting to boycott a movie YOU all are telling them has nothing to do with them. So you're livid at the lack of support of YOU since it's clear you all know it has nothing to do with US.

This is so petty. It's like a girl helping her little brother study for the spelling bee, then the little brother WINS the spelling bee, now she's mad that her name isn't next to her brother's name on the trophy. SMH.
========================================
Wrong analogy:

It's like a girl helping her little brother study for a spelling bee, then that little brother WINS the spelling bee, and now he wants to give credit to the racist girl next door who was nowhere to be found when he needed the help. When she's understandably mad history is being rewritten, lil bro calls her a hater.

And if it's perfectably acceptable that the big sis's name is NOT on the trophy, then why is it acceptable for the racist girl accross the street's name to be on there? Moreover, why is expected the big sis should be ok with that?

Face it. Y'all have nowhere to go and are too stubborn to admit it. They'd rather focus on a random ficticious Italian woman than insert the REAL women who Xtra listed or the REAL famailies of these men. That doesn't ring a bell for you all. Too busy being "grateful". AND to minds like YOURS it's PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE, NORMAL, AND OK while not acceptable that women who see your mentalities on display would say FUCK YOU and YA FILM.

@Soutpaw
-You got me messed up if you think I'm a fan of Tyler Perry in anyway and if you feel I don't KNOW a loud mouth, fat, violent, manly mammy is helping to fuck up our image in media. What I pointed out was the NATURAL inclination for people who FEEL(whether right or wrong) someone is doing something for THEM to support it. Hence you all raving about Redtails on the notion that it's supporting YOU. These films being supportive of black women, black men, or neither is up for debate(as you can see). So not all will think that but I pointed the person BELIEVES that. And it's there the support stems from.

So when you're comparing a black woman going to see something that they FEEL caters to them and is "celebrating them by showcasing them in LEAD ROLES" to them NOT wanting to a movie that EXCLUDES them and is trying to send a BLATANT negative message whether about 1.)their lack of desirability or 2.)not acknowledging their accomplishments...hell, 3.)not showing they were fretting/worrying/praying/standing by those men, that's an apples and orange comparison.

In what world does a statement like this >>>>>> "I will go and see something I believe is FOR me and refuse to see something I don't believe is for me" not UNDERSTANDABLE?

You take me EXPLAINING where your thinking is flawed to me excusing/supporting TP or saying one is better than the other. Negative. I DO NOT support TP. And all negative reinforcements contribute to the degradation of black girls and women which is a big problem for me.

And check this comment out:

"Some were saddened because the hero in "Red Tales"didn't select a BW (like themselves). When one considers the kind of satisfaction the movies typically provide its viewers with that dissatisfaction is reasonable. "Red Tales" doesn't have its hero flying into the sunset.%uFEFF And he doesn't marry a BW. That saddened some of the people who bought tickets. It's a genuine disapointment... at least as far as entertainment goes....."

That was under Atlanta sista's video. And these were the comments I've seen on Clutch and WhatAboutOurDaughters. THIS is what I'm talking about. These women WENT to see the movie and although trying to support, and happy the black men's stories got told, you, AS A BLACK FEMALE, WHETHER SUBCONSCIOUSLY OR OTHERWISE, WILL NOT LEAVE THE MOVIE THEATER WITHOUT FEELING SOME TYPE OF WAY ABOUT MEN NOT FIGHTING FOR YOU IN AN "ALL BLACK FILM" esp since the "black men love anything non black" is already HEAVY IN ROTATION.

This is what I try to protect black females from. That feeling. It will SEEP into their psyches as it will seep into the young black boys about what is "beautiful"(ie "I just saw the most beautiful woman in the world") and what you "fight to protect". Now there are been many reviews like this and STILL the women say they're just happy the story is being told. And other women say they'll go see it. Just like the fucked up messages they received from "Precious" and "The Help" only to say, "Glad our struggles are being portrayed". You lose a little bit of yourself and hope when one sees spirit-killing things like these, masked "as telling your story/struggles".

ISN'T IT PAINFULLY OBVIOUS TO BLACK WOMEN BY NOW THAT PEOPLE ARE LAUGHING AT THEIR "STRUGGLES"? LAUGHING AT THEM GETTING DISSED BY BLACK MEN?

And at the end of the day, when the score is tallied and the numbers are in, it won't matter if your self esteem was lowered, all anyone will say is, "It did 19mil in two days...whoo hoo". Yet when I talk, people say I'm reaching. I knew that shit would happen and had NO QUALMS about not seeing something that was MEANT to BREAK YOUR SPIRIT with DIVIDE AND CONQUER by giving to one side and not the other. IT WAS INTENTIONAL. And because BOTH black men and women LOVE to use white people using them in order to hurt the other side, they gladly go along when it's a cookie is thrown their way, (ie that bullshit "Black Girls Rock").

Remember SoutPaw asking how could it have been negative if Black women were left out? Dollars to donuts he hates "Black girls rocks" because of the MESSAGE it sends to young black boys by what????? LEAVING THEM OUT. Using his logic being left out sends a POSITIVE message.

And when I talk about self esteem lowering, it can happen to people who are unconscious. I can go see that movie and it won't affect *me* because 1.)I'm too old and 2.)I know the score, but if you're not aware of what they're trying to do, YOU WILL BUY INTO IT. I see shit and I'm like, "WE DON'T BELIEVE YOU, YOU NEED MORE PEOPLE" and shut that shit out. but I will NOT give money to someone in order for them to TRY and come at me with BULLSHIT. PAYING SOMEONE TO DO YOU DIRTY!

I do not know where black women's fight went or why this is hard to grasp. I did not know initially that inferiority complexes were so high and is still high. I thought everyone thought like how I thought. You fuck me over, that's YOUR ASS. I believed we were STRONG.

In the end, the girls like the ones I quoted above, who still do not get it are, the same ones who absorb these messages time and time again. Going back for more. They show they have NO DISCIPLINE and will continue to bump their heads. And after all that, they'll be on radio asking why all the black men are dating out. THAT is why I act out so much because I fucking HATE THAT SHIT. I HATE IT. I HATE IT. I CRINGE whenever there is a black girl asking that crap and THESE ARE THE WINDOWS that these thoughts come through. You have to protect yourself from these self esteem killers and propaganda that comes through in many forms. And lets turn this around before the next generation of girls start worrying about what boys who cannot do anything (and gladly laugh at that fact) are doing with whom. If they don't think you're to be treated like a Princess and put first, FUCK THEM. End of. There is no way in HELL black males should be giving this much time and energy. Women seek men who contribute something to their lives one way or another. And black girls who eventually grow into women are letting the media fuck them up.

I'm not saying by refusing to engage that whites will STOP, because quite frankly, their identities rely on them always needing affirmation of their supposed "greatness" by sabotaging you BUT there is a difference in them fucking you over and you HELPING them to fuck you over. Let them do what they'll do anyways WITHOUT YOUR ASSISTANCE!!!!

And the ones who said they were disappointed but hope black women will show up in the sequel...so you're supposed to show up 2nd behind some fictional Italian chick in an all black movie? You're supposed to take the back seat??????? You PRAY(and will PAY) for THAT? That's how LOW the bar is? I'mma need out of the black race altogether.

"Tyler Perry movies are geared towards black women and black women support it. So whether it's damming to YOU or not. Or whether you feel it's shitting on black women and family in general, it does make sense for someone to support something *they*(key word) feel is FOR them. Hence you all supporting Redtails"

Question: Is it worth it? If this is (supposedly) for them, and they feel it's FOR them, despite the fact (not opinion, fact) it denigrates the image of black women, via a black man is dressed as a stereotypically loud, belligerent black woman, can you say the denigration is a good enough trade-off? Is it really worth it?

"Why keep harping on the fact that it was a "black" man behind the film when these men clearly have loyalties to other people? That's like throwing up BlakeBarbieDoll and saying she was a "black" woman behind Waiting to Exhale or something. That actually hurts your point more than helps it."

On the contrary, it helps MY point...your point is the one that's being hurt. Red Tails was directed by a black man. The Help was directed by a white man. Now you said that Aaron McGruder (screenwriter) and the black director have other loyalties. The black male image was very positive. They proved to the US government, US military, and the world that they were smart enough to fly planes in combat...and saved the world from total destruction. None of them were smoking dope, none of them were saggin' none of them were wearing a fat suit and a dress. If that's not a positive image, then I don't what is.

What's the loyalties of the white director of The Help? Viola Davis's character is inarticulate as hell with that "You is smart, you is kind," mess. Maids in the '60s were way more articulate. Is that being loyal to black women? Does that help or hurts the black female image?

And I think it's Terri McMillan, instead of BlakeBarbieDoll, who was the "black" woman behind Waiting To Exhale, since she was the author of the book that inspired the film. Just like Alice Walker was the author of (i.e. black woman behind) The Color Purple.

What are Alice Walker's and Terri McMillan's loyalties? Did they build up or ruin the black woman's image? How does being combative and belligerent toward one's husband, helps the black female image, instead of hurting it?

Xtra, no one here is discrediting Mary McLeod Bethune. Her work getting African-American pilots to fly at Tuskegee, is appreciated. However, she didn't FLY those combat planes into Nazi territory, the pilots did. She didn't risk her life ducking bullets at 20,000 feet in the air in those planes, the pilots did.

This is so petty. It's like a girl helping her little brother study for the spelling bee, then the little brother WINS the spelling bee, now she's mad that her name isn't next to her brother's name on the trophy. SMH.

"@Divinebrown That picture is correct, that is the Arron Mcgruder of Boondocks. I do not believe he is married but dating a woman that is biracial--asian and white."
=================================
There is someone behind Boondocks who's fat, dark skinned, and wears glasses that is married to a white woman. He was who I was thinking of all this time. They put him beside a picture of Uncle Rukus and laughed about the similarities.

Even so, knowing the actual Aaron Mcgruder is with a bi-racial woman, my point still stands. Why keep harping on the fact that it was a "black" man behind the film when these men clearly have loyalties to other people? That's like throwing up BlakeBarbieDoll and saying she was a "black" woman behind Waiting to Exhale or something. That actually hurts your point more than helps it.

Women 'Red Tails' Left Out

"Although African Americans had valiantly served in the Civil War, on the frontier in the Indian Wars, in the Spanish American War and in World War I, white politicians and military officers still publicly professed to doubt black ability and patriotism, as part of the ideology and propaganda that undergirded Jim Crow in all of its pernicious forms.

The crucial change came in 1938, primarily because of the efforts of an African-American woman, Mary McLeod Bethune, who saw, before most other black leaders, a way to break the hold of racism on black participation in the military, by striking at the most resistant obstacle of all: the integration of the pilot program."

"Bethune's struggle to get African Americans into pilot-training programs began in 1938 with the New Deal's Civilian Pilot Training Program. The program was modestly funded by the National Youth Administration -- an important point, because Bethune headed the "Negro Section" of the NYA.

She was also the only female member of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's "black cabinet" and a close friend of first lady Eleanor Roosevelt."

"With extraordinary foresight, she used her considerable authority to get Tuskegee Institute, Hampton Institute, Virginia State, North Carolina A&T, Delaware State, West Virginia State and Howard University included among the colleges and universities chosen as sites for pilot training.

WITHOUT THIS CRUCIAL INTERVENTION, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO TUSKEEGEE AIRMEN"

"The Tuskegee Airmen also owed a debt to Willa Beatrice Brown, one of two women in the all-black Challenger Air Pilots Association, founded in 1935. Brown was one of about 100 licensed black pilots in the entire country.

She also became the first African-American woman to receive a commission as a lieutenant in the U.S. Civil Air Patrol.An expert in business administration and public relations and a dedicated aviator, Brown played a critical role in promoting the image of black aviators to help fight racial prejudice and expand opportunities for all blacks.

She became chair of the association's education committee and appeared in the offices of the Chicago Defender, the famed black paper of the era, to convince the paper to cover the association's air shows.

Additionally, she not only successfully lobbied for federal funds to support the private Coffey School of Aviation in Chicago but also wrote directly to Eleanor Roosevelt in December 1941.

Brown's role in the integration of America's aviation forces, like that of Bethune, was a considerable one as well."

Black women supported and what did they get in return, bubkiss and on top of that not even a damn acknowledgement for it.
