The Bantu and Nilotic peoples of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda already account for the *majority* of the entire population of East Africans so the statement "east africans are not "black"" cannot hold.

Well, Nilotic peoples originate from the Horn of Africa and their migrations have brought them to various parts of East Africa (and beyond) ---> East African Nilotes have always been East Africans.
no one lived in western half of africa, they came east to the west. the first to the west were the mixed & dark people (yellow, orange and brown skinned) called Phoenicians, they sailed there. then others came, bantus, original brown/black berbers and egypto-israelites.
bantus r of cush but not pure cush since they r brown colors not olive black (the fruit not oil) like the dinka or ancient egypt wall paintings.
east african is a vague term. most times the Western meaning is non-bantu black people who r phuntlanders (of bible Punt), dark shemites/arabs, ancient egyptian decent or near the "horn" region. the blacks there r less "negroid" and more ambiguous or medium-ish in looks.
AA black peoples do look like all versions of Ham & Shem or West and East africans. the east afro looking AA look more like ancient egyptian or habesha ethiopians rarely like a Punt (horn of african). they say P Diddy pops is somalian because he can't close his big teeth mouth...lol.
