Since you mentioned this, a major pet peeve of mine with Black folk, in general, is how ass backwards we are.
When dealing with each other we hold to economic politics like a wino clutching his last bottle. And that is not to say that economics is not important (for all the "you want a woman to lead idiots") But the focus is off. Economic politics should be directed towards outsiders, first and foremost.
Instead they get a significant helping of Racial politics which devolves to soft shoeing for acceptance. Just look the videos and comments of Blacks creaming themselves over the 'acceptance" from outsiders. Good point. I have been doing my research as I have wanted to adopt a boy for the longest. Just trying to decide on if I want to go the teenage route (those who could benefit the most) or to start from scratch, if you will, and adopt an infant. Decisions, Decisions.

Marriage is nothing more than the merging of two businesses. Many don't know the wife's debt becomes his debt as well. Brotha can't build if he is paying off debt, child support, alimony, etc.

Excellent video my friend, I have long since told people that marriage is not making a damn difference to the black community any more its a paradigm followed by women who want to use marriage for their own security and men who want to use the marriage to control the women they are married to. The people who are pitching for marriage are nothing but traditionalists who likely wont think about life any further beyond their own marriage once they get it because for THEM its the end game its how they were raised.
